Every year emergencies test the disaster preparedness of businesses, individuals and the community. In June 2001, Houston, Texas was inundated with 30+ inches of rain within a 24-hour period. No one would have expected Tropical Storm Allison would inflect such damage and inconvenience in such a short period of time. That Friday evening was not a good day for many. The $5 Billion recovery cost was also unexpected.
No one at the World Trade Center NY on September 11th, 2001 could have imagined what would disrupt NYC, the country and the world. In both cases, and in many others, physical resources and staffs were greatly impacted. Technology Plans alone were not enough.
